All but four teams will be heading back to their respective countries now. India, Sri Lanka, South Africa and West Indies will be preparing for the semis. Tomorrow is a rest day. Then we have the first semi-final between West Indies and Sri Lanka on Thursday, 3rd April at 1900 local time. It promises to be an exciting contest already. Do join us for the coverage. Till then, cheers and goodbye!
The Man of the Match award goes to Dwayne Bravo. He says that he didn't expect it to be this easy. Adds that the team put runs on the board and knew that they had the bowling line-up to defend any total. He knew that the Pakistan team had them in a bit of a bother but they did not panic. He jokingly says that there would be a tie-up between himself, Sammy and Badree for the Man of the Match award.
So, the first semi-final lines up like this - West Indies vs Sri Lanka. We already know the second one - India vs South Africa. The group stage saw some sapping cricket being played. Most the matches were pretty tight. Even the Dutch who were the only Associate team in the Super 10s fought very hard. Disappointing performances came from Australia, Bangladesh and England.
Santokie picked up a wicket off the first ball of the innings and the spinners took it from there on and picked up wickets at regular intervals. This is the third consecutive game in which a side chasing under lights has been bowled out under 100. Seems like the tables have turned in Dhaka and captains winning the toss will have serious thinking to do. This is also West Indies' highest margin of victory by runs in T20Is.
